This year in Confirmation Instruction we will be focusing on the The New Testament, Prayer, The Lord's Prayer, & The Sacraments.
Confirmation is an important ministry of the church. It is the time when young people affirm their baptism, profess their faith in Christ, and become full members of the congregation. After two years of instruction 10th grade students will be "confirmed" in October.
Confirmation Instruction: Confirmation Instruction (or classes) is held once a month on a Sunday evening from 5:30-8:30. Eighth graders, ninth graders, and their parents gather to participate in learning about the faith. Using Martin Luther's Small Catechism and the Bible as their guide, participants will gain deeper insight and understanding about Scripture, Prayer, the Lord's Prayer, the Apostles Creed, The 10 Commandments, and the Sacraments of Baptism & Communion.
Pastor Mike Conklin and Youth Minister Jeff "Spanky" Amlotte lead the monthly instruction. Every month is different, but each session will include dinner AND have some of the following, interactive elements... -Bible Study -Skits -Videos -Small Group Discussion -Large Group Discussion -Group Building Games and Challenges -Times of Reflection -Prayer -Parent & Teen-One on One Faith Discussions *We have had a lot of fun with our confirmation families over the years and look forward to leading them through this experience and helping them grow in their faith!
