What Is Grace? Grace is the opposite of karma, which is all about getting what you deserve. Grace is getting what you don’t deserve, and not getting what you do deserve. “Grace” is the most important concept in the Bible, Christianity, and the world. It is most clearly expressed in the promises of God revealed in Scripture and embodied in Jesus Christ. Grace is the love of God shown to the unlovely; the peace of God given to the restless; the unmerited favor of God. “Grace is unconditional love toward a person who does not deserve it.” Grace is most needed and best understood in the midst of sin, suffering, and brokenness. We live in a world of earning, deserving, and merit, and these result in judgment. That is why everyone wants and needs grace. Judgment kills. Only grace makes alive. Mamrelund is all about Grace! What is Hope? "Faith and hope are closely linked, but different. Hope is a precursor to faith. While faith is believing and trusting in something that you cannot see, hope is imagining that there is something there to even believe and trust in. It is the belief in what could be. Hope redefines what is probable and opens the paths to the impossible. For example, faith is putting your trust in God to help in a financial difficulty, but hope opens the door to even let yourself consider that there may be a way out of your problem. Hope is all we need to keep on living. It is the foundation to build one's life upon. It is a commitment to continue to struggle, creates endurance and strength in a person. Otherwise he or she is simply sitting back and wishing away his or her life. Hope lifts my eyes. Hope lets me see what could be. Hope tells me there is more. Hope forces me to keep walking, searching, longing, loving...hope leads to faith. "In other words, hope is the birthplace of Christian self-sacrificing love. That's because we just let God take care of us and aren't preoccupied with having to work to take care of ourselves. We say, "Lord, I just want to be there for other people Mamrelund is all about Hope! Look at the Food Pantry, Clothes Closet, Family Promise, Adopt a Family, and Blood drives.
What is Love? God loves you. God loves you more than anyone else could ever love you! God’s love for you is eternal. Time cannot erase it. God loves you and He will always love you. God’s love for you is unconditional. This concept is hard to completely understand at times because of how conditional human love can be. Sometimes human love is dependent on how we feel about someone…or it’s dependent upon someone loving us in return. But God’s love is unconditional. Nothing you do or don’t do can alter it. God’s love is incomprehensible! It’s immeasurable. What’s most remarkable about the love of God is that in spite of your sin and my sin…despite our failure and brokenness and worthlessness…He reached down and showed us His love by sending His Son to die in our place on the cross! Remember how much God loves you today…and that as a result, you’ll be motivated to share God’s love with others. God’s love for you is eternal, unconditional, and immeasurable!
